Spring Cleaning My Life

April is the month of renewal and spring cleaning.  I am not only doing this in my home, but also in my business, finances and other aspects of my life.

I have been working this month on moving all my eBay links from Commission Junction to the new eBay Partner Network. It has been very long and tedious, but I have been able to go through each site and optimize it and “spring clean” it a bit.

I am adding ClickBank Pro Ads to all my sites so I can easily promote Clickbank products without hand picking and writing the advertisements myself.  I have already gotten several clickbank sales by using the ads and think it will help me boost my clickbank income considerably.

Yes, I am still keeping adsense as well, but this will lower my dependence on it. Plus, clickbank commissions are considerably higher.

I am working on stream lining my business and finding ways to optimize my websites and promotion strategies.

As far as the other aspects of my life, I am spring cleaning my diet and eliminating processed foods. Going on a diet of fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds and homemade whole grains. As you may have heard, I have been having some health problems and this is how I plan to get healthy.

I am coming out with my second, and last membership site this month - Homeschool Cash. I want to devote my time to my members so this and Raise A Leader are my only two. I do not want dozens of membership sites all over the place because that would make me lose focus.

I am not doing as many niche websites as I used to. Maybe 3-5 a month. The rest of the time I plan to focus on my two membership sites and creating awesome information products.

Build an Empire around Your Passion

Last month I joined a membership site challenge. The premise what to create a bunch of niche membership sites that bring in monthly income…

I am not sure how I strayed from it, but the first niche I picked out for my first membership site is something I am so passionate about I want to stay in it indefinetely.

If you truly love a niche, you can build an entire empire around it. Membership site, ebooks, websites, audios, videos, paper back books, etc… Read more »

Always Stand Behind Your Beliefs

Are you selling yourself out to make money? In the pursuit of a quick buck or the almighty dollar it can be easy to lose focus on what is right and wrong because there are so many “gray areas”.

I come in contact with a lot of internet marketers and have been quite surprised at the moral codes they are willing to bend to make more money. These range from going into chat rooms pretending to be a young girl asking the guys to sign up for a dating site (using his affiliate link) to see “her” photos. To stealing other people’s ebooks off clickbank. To selling products that go against their religious or moral beliefs. Read more »

Find What You Love to Do - Then Monitize It

There is no point in doing something you hate for the rest of your life. If you truly want to be happy, you need to do what you LOVE to do.

I actually hadn’t thought too much about it until I was watching Dave Ramsey on the Fox Business channel on Monday night. He said that if you are in a job you hate, make sure you are not working their by the end of 2008.

I like that he gave us time to do it. That means you have a whole year to transition from doing something you don’t like to working with your passion. Read more »

Getting Off to a Great Start

I decided to make 2008 the best year ever so I got it off to a great start. I have already completed 3 projects and recently decided I am going to learn about niche membership sites and see what I can do with them as well.

I truly believe that as long as you work hard, work smart and have good intentions that you will reach all your goals.

I am going to spend tomorrow after I get home from church to make a road map of sorts. No, I am not going on a road trip, but a road map for where I want to go in life. Read more »

This is NOT Get Rich Quick

I want everyone who comes to this blog to know that making a living online is not a get rich quick process.

I work over 80 hours a week and spend several hundred dollars a month on my business.  Last month I made $2,700 for that time. After expenses it was more like $1,500 or maybe even a bit less than that.

Calculating that on a per hour basis I have made approximately $4.16 an hour after expenses.

So why am I crazy enough to keep working like this? Because I love it. I am not working a job, I am building a business. A business that will eventually be able to run on auto-pilot.

I am working my butt off for the next two years to have a better decade.

I just felt that it was important to post this because I don’t want to give anyone any false impressions that making money is easy. It will take WORK, dedication and time. However, it can be done.

How to Make REAL Income Goals

Looking back to where I started in May until now I see dramatic changes. Not only in income, but in my life in general.

In fact, I have learned more in the past 3 months than I did in the 2 years I went to college. Go figure?

I was able to pay off a decent amount of debt, not as much as I would have liked, but at least I made some progress.

I really want to pay off the rest of my debt completely in 2008. I am still sticking to my April 2009 goal (exactly 24 months from the time I started my blog). However, I secretly want to see if I can do it faster.

I want to streamline my business in the coming year to give me more time to spend with my family and doing the things I am really passionate about.

A book that really struck a chord with me was 4 Hour Work Week.

It taught me that a certain dollar amount of money should not be a goal. (Example: I want to make a million dollars.)

Instead you should make a goal of what you want to do with your life, what you want to accomplish. Then you look back and determine what income you need to meet your goal.

So according to that here are my goals:

My immediate goal would be to get out of debt and live simply. Make enough money from my online ventures to pay my bills and have enough left over to help others.

I want to free up my time to be able to serve more volunteer hours for my church and organizing service projects.

I also would like the time and resources to help the Constitution Party (yes, I am a Constitutionalist) and the Natural Solutions Foundation.

I would like to put my kids in a private Christian school because I am not big fan of the public school system.

I also plan to save up for a home. The homes in the area we like are in the range of $250k.

I would never want to buy a mercedes or any other expensive car. I am not even the type that would wear “designer” clothes. It just isn’t my personality. Sure, I like to look nice, but Target is good enough for me. ;)

So instead of thinking, I want to to make such and such amount each month. Determine what you really need to meet your goals and live the life that makes you truly happy. Then you can determine what you need to do to get yourself there.

When we really know what we are striving for it helps put everything into the right perspective.

Thinking about New Years Resolutions

It is not very long until Christmas and of course the end of 2007. Now is the time to start thinking about those New Years Resolutions. On my list I have:

1. Build my income up to six figures by July.

2. Lose my pregnancy weight. Yes, he is already 5 month old now, but a lot of the baby fat still lingers with me.

3. Eat healthier and actually start exercising.

4. Get out of DEBT!

On the not so good note, this week we discovered that our almost 3 year old is autistic. It is partially why I haven’t been posting on my blog much, I have been feeling a bit emotional.

I now know that I need to kick things into gear so I can get out of debt and have enough passive income coming in to be able to spend more time devoted to him and his needs. That is my ultimate goal for 2008.

So Many Different Ways to Make Money

It is now the 8th of December. I have built 3 websites so far this month and am starting # 4 today. If I keep going at the pace of a new website every 2 days I should be able to get 15 done this month. Read more »

Am I Just Spinning My Wheels?

I was looking at the ending result of income for the month of November. Wow, only an increase of $18.84 of the entire month?!

Then I started looking at my stats. My income has certainly not been static. The main culprit has been the Get Paid To Read more »
