@Gail you’re right about the adsense kicking in so quickly on these sites. They have built up a degree of traffic that would be a lot of work for an individual to match, and with adsense it’s partly a numbers game (plus relevance and doing your keyword research).

Adsense was the first monetization technique I used on all my blogs and on the ones that had a bit of traffic I did make some money. But then Google changed things somehow and my Adsense income dropped by half. It continued to drop to the point where I just removed all the Adsense from all of my blogs – for the small amount I made it wasn’t worth the annoyance of having ads.

I’m now starting to look at doing article marketing, and your comment just really brought it home to me that these sites are the one way that adsense is still going to be worthwhile to me. It would be too much work to build the kind of traffic these authority sites have, and frankly if you have that kind of traffic there are likely to be far more lucrative ways of using it. But for what Amy’s doing – this model to get backlinks and make money at the same time – I think it’s great!

I find these updates useful for comparison. These are the same sites that I am starting to use for creating residual income in addition to eHow. I, too, am amazed at your ability to add so much content. Do you have a lot of free time or just write that quickly?

Anyway, I am just finding this blog and will have to do more exploration.

Amy, thank you for your willingness to share these avenues to making money from home. I like the idea of the smaller posts as I have so many sites I’m trying to keep up with. It’s also good to know that Adsense kicks in so quickly on these sites.

I have been focusing a lot on writing for E-how.com and that seems to be lucrative thus far. Infobarrel is good, but since Sept. 09 earnings have been slow. I have 33 articles there.

Dyamondrose – In The Niche Blogger course I teach how to find good keywords. I just do articles on all the great keywords I find.

Sherri – Infobarrel and Xomba only use Adsense.

Kim – Add xomba.com to the url channels, don’t put in the www or the http

Good information, Amy. How do you track your Xomba earnings? Is it simply by adding in xomba.com as an Url channel on the Google Adsense site?

You list the main source of your income is through Adsense. HubPages seems the only site that has other options.

Do Xomba and InfoBarrel have other income options?

I ask because I’ve been banned from Adsense and my appeal hasn’t been successful so far. I use AdBrite on my websites.

It’s really interesting that you’ve seen more earnings from Infobarrel – I’ve heard others say this too. Writing loads of Hubs really tired me out though so I think I’ll wait for a while before I start writing Infobarrels!
