100 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge

I have never really thought of HubPages much, I never thought it would be worth the time or the effort.

Then I heard a story about a guy who did a 100 hubs in 30 days challenge and actually started making about $750 extra a month. So I decided that I could spare the time to do the same challenge for myself.

Over the next 30 days… starting from today July 6th, 2009 I am going to create and publish 100 HubPages hubs.

I want to see if the extra income it brings me can match or exceed the guy who is now making an extra $750.

PLUS, I can use this as a chance to promote my niche blogs by creating hubs in the same market and then posting my RSS feeds inside the hubs. I am not sure if I can directly link to my blogs or not, but I will give that one a try.

I am a total HubPages newbie… but I am all about learning and trying new things. Let’s see how well this does both in the form of extra income and increased traffic to my blogs.

How Does HubPages Make Me Money?

In order to make money from HubPages you want to get a Google Adsense account, an Amazon Associates account, a Kontera account and an eBay Partner Network account.

If you can only get the Google Adsense account for now you can still start making some income. If you have been a member of The Niche Blogger for more than a few months you probably already have accounts with all these programs.

Now… this is how it works…

HubPages splits the ad revenue from those sources with you by giving you 60% of the impressions while they keep 40% of the revenue and impressions for themselves.

This may not sound very fair, however this is mainly a place for me to earn some extra cash and get some exposure for my niche blogs.

I figure the 60% of the revenue I get to earn is a bonus, and from what i’ve heard… it can really start to add up.

HubPages Challenge Day 1

Since today I officially started my participation in the challenge I decided I should start it off with a bang. I am goign to make 5 new high-quality hubs today.

Since I don’t work on much on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays I am trying to make at leat 5 a day through the weekdays.

I will keep you updated on how this goes…

Don’t worry I am still making Niche Blogs in full force as they are my favorite business model and in my opinion, one of the most profitable.

If you want to join me in this challenge, go get signed up for HubPages then post a comment below. We can do this together.

I’m happy to hear that you’re taking the Hub Challenge! The real one officially ended nearly a month ago, but that’s no reason why you can’t start it now.

If you need any help or have any questions, please let me know!

Good luck on your goal of 100 hubs! I completed just over 60 for the Hubpages challenge. You will definitely see an increase of Adsense!

Congratulations on your goal, Amy! This is going to be fun to watch and learn from since I just joined and will write hubs right along with you… On your mark, get set…

    Hi Amy,

I have had a couple of hubs for quite awhile, and they give about the same exposure for your niches as Squidoo. I’ve never made money from my hubs, but I only have two, and I’m banned from Adsense. A lot of revenue comes from Adsense on that site.

One of my two hubs was temporarily shut down because they didn’t like where I put my RSS feed on that hub. I fixed it, but I’m glad it happened early on. I don’t depend on hubs for income because of that.

That’s why I stick to Squidoo. They have the Adsense account. I’ve been making $2-$4/mo every month on Squidoo with 29 very active lenses. I have 2 more in the works and several more ideas to get working on. I only make lenses about my niches or things I might want to get into to test traffic. Squidoo changed their rules recently and it sounds like one could accidentally get an account banned without doing much wrong.

I’m about to read your next article on the getting banned topic.

You can certainly earn money with Hubpages, but it isn’t as easy as it looks from the outside. In particular it’s hard writing good quality hubs, it takes time and effort (I’m afraid to put up hastily cobbled stuff just in case my account gets inspected by a Google engineer. Better to be safe than sorry).

I just started 2 days ago with hubpages. I want to complete this goal and will be building hubs each day for the next 30 days. I want to reach 100 and surpass the number. I believe that this is a relatively easy goal to reach. It just takes a bit of planning and determination.
