Converting My Niche Websites into Blogs
I decided I wanted to move all my plain HTML websites to wordpress blogs. I like being able to change my template around and I love being able to upload more articles without having to redo all my menu bars.
So I am going back to all my really old sites and basically renovating them. Putting them on wordpress and adding more new content. This will keep me really busy all throughout this month and probably September as well.
Already one of the websites I redid this month went from making $3 a day to making almost $12 a day. Well worth the change if you ask me. I use the Super Adsense Wordpress templates and just change the header image to go with my niche topic.
The trick to keeping my old links working in my wordpress blog is to set up my permalink to be a custom structure as follows: /%postname%.html
I will let you know what results I get from renovating my sites and converting them all to blogs.

Progress Overview

Amy, i’ve found that google really likes to crawl blogs with new content. My niche blogs are starting to move up in the rankings. Good idea to convert your sites to wordpress. Nice templates by the way.
I’m just starting out with niche sites and am planning on doing the exact same thing, make them all wordpress blogs. It took Google just one day to index one of my brand new sites and it was a cheap .info! I did nothing to get Google to find it. Wordpress is the way to go.
Wow. That certainly sounds like a lot of work. Definitely worth it though if it can help quadruple your daily earnings from some sites!
You’ve really been an inspiration to me, as I’ve been trying to set up a decent website to provide tips for making money online. Thanks a lot amy!

Ya please give some follow up on the changes. I always like numbers. Anyway your blog looks great. And it seems you are doing well. Nice work. Hope you can pay all your debt as soon as possible. All the best.
This is a good idea. I recently decided that I love blogging, so instead of doing niche websites I would put together niche blogs. Seems to attract a stronger readership.
That’s something I should do, too, though in most cases, my simple article templates give me higher CTRs and affiliate conversions than my blog templates. Blogs always seem to be busier and more distracting to the eye, though I’m sure if I looked hard enough, I could find some templates that resemble my simple article pages.
And congrats on increasing your earnings with you upgrade!
I converted a few of my sites recently and in a way I was sorry I did because they all lost their rank (most were on page 1 of Google) and lost pr as well. I’m now working on building them back up but it hasn’t been easy.
You are an inpiration! I’m very very new to this online marketing and it looks like your blog is fairly new as well….and that you’re realizing profits! Great. Keep up the good work and I’ll try and follow in your footsteps.
I came across your blog and I am curious- is your debt amount of $72,900 all in credit card debt or does it include your mortgage? Just curious. I hope for your sake it includes your mortgage. That will be great if you can have it paid off in full soon.

Hamida. I did that with one of my sites too and my traffic went WAY down for 4 or 5 months. It is now much stronger than before though now that I’m back up in first 5 results on google for my main keywords. Definitely worth the temporary dip in traffic for the long-term results!
If I sound clueless, it’s because I am. Sorry! … So your niche sites now look, feel and act like blogs? Is that why your income from that website quadrupled? A couple of people mentioned Google indexed and crawled their site…1. How does one know that Google has done this? 2. Why is wordpress responsible for this?
Hi Amy,
Boy, am I enjoying your blog! You are truly inspirational. How do you get it all done with 100 websites and 4 little ones to take care of?
I have a wordpress blog and purchased the templates mentioned above. I was wondering if you use the Unique Article Wizard that you mentioned for adding content to your blogs, or do you add all the content yourself?
Wordpress is the best for regular updates to sites. In fact I tweak the template and make it look like a regular site and not just a blog, but I still get the Wordpress functionality that’s the best.
