Simple Twist Of Fate
I was thinking last night how much my life is guided by God as opposed to just myself. Being in debt and working to pay it off has been very difficult. There are times I wish I would never have gotten into debt, but I must tell you, this trial has changed my life.
First of all, If I had never gotten into debt I would never have created this My Debt Free Goal blog or even gotten into Internet Marketing for that matter.
Working so hard and sacrificing has taught me some valuable life lessons.
1. Material possessions are over rated – We have sold pretty much everything we have and cut down to just the basics and I got to tell you, it feels better to not have so many ‘things’ to worry about.
2. Working together as a family towards a goal brings everyone together – Even our kids are excited about us becoming debt free. They don’t complain when we don’t spend money to do all the things they would like or when we don’t buy them toys or candy at the store. We instead spend quality time together at the park or playing board games. It has truly brought us closer together.
3. God turns our trials into blessings. Everything that has happened in my life or ever will happen are because God loves me and wants to teach me and help me grow. I have grown tremendously over the past year and all the blessings that have come out of this have come from Him.
Even though sometimes I feel guilty for being stupid enough to go in debt, I wouldn’t want to go back and take away all the good that has come out of this experience.
Progress Overview

Amy-
All of this is so true. Money absolutely cannot buy happiness.
I’m also wondering if you think niche websites are still worth doing? I am just starting and am getting the feeling it’s a very saturated market. I am determined, but also willing to look for other ways to make money if need be. I would appreciate your opinion- if you have time. I know how busy you must be. Thank you for a great site!
Jayne,
I LOVE niche sites.
The trick is to make niche websites for markets that are NOT saturated.
Amy, I believe God walks with you through the process showing off His power to you. The cool thing to know if ultimately if you die tomorrow the price has been paid by Him. We owe nothing to the Father. God Bless, hang in there, I am supporting your efforts. -Debt Free Hispanic
Congratulations on all your success (I remember passing by this blog about a year ago).
Don’t feel “stupid” about having gotten into debt. The system really is set up so we buy into it before we even realize what we’re doing. Contrarian is going against it, which is what you’re doing now. Few people have the gumption to take responsibility for their debt and get it paid off.
Good luck on your journey!
Hey Amy, I second that. Don’t ever feel stupid about going into debt, it happens to the best of us. I racked mine up before I was 25, because when we are young, we don’t always know better. I really admire your goal to pay it off, I would like to do the same with mine some day. Great job on your successes, God always helps those who help themselves, and always likes to test us to make sure we are worthy of his blessings! Keep it up girl!
Oh and anyone here who hasn’t joined Niche Blogger…What the heck are you waiting for?!
Best Regards,
Cori

I just found your site through a mention on Mom Masterminds. I also have four kids and the worry of the debt wakes me up at night.
Your blog is so informative and I’m trying to earn the$$ at Cash Crate to pay for a subscription.
But most of all thank for reminding me that even with the dumb things we get ourselves into…that God will work all things together for our good!
