Half Way Point
The first year of my debt free goal is officially completed. I have one year left to get completely out of debt and I must say, I am excited for the challenge.
I have $51,322 of debt left. I really believe I can pay it all off by April 2009 if I keep working hard and shoveling all of the income above our bare minimum expenses at it.
I was watching Dave Ramsey on television a few nights ago and he said to pay off our debt like our lives depended on it.
That really struck me. I plan to do that exact thing. This is my main focus. I stopped almost all of my outsourcing for the time being and am doing pretty much everything myself.
Once I am debt free I will be able to relax a bit more with my business and outsource a bit more. Thank goodness I will be getting that economic stimulus check this month, which 100% of it is going straight to the debt.
I have been doing more freelance work such as making videos for people to make some extra cash to throw at it as well. So you should be seeing my debt numbers dropping dramatically over the coming months and I am so happy you have joined me on my journey.
Progress Overview

Congratulations! I have no doubt you will do it. I would love to get into Internet Market more, but It’s a time and knowledge constraint. I can only hope I have the sucess you do, but it’s a rough road. I can see how excited you kids are!

Wow, a year already? I remember I found your blog back in July, and was fascinated. I was also totally inspired. I will never be as motivated as you,(you are a true inspiration) but I am enjoying watching you succeed and pray that you hang in there till your debt is paid!
Hang in there Amy, I like hearing about how you live like no one else so later you can live like no one else. I’m also a Dave Ramsey fan and he motivated me to keep going. Debt Free Hispanic
I actually stumbled on your site from a article I was reading. I have a wellness program that pays you to utilize the site. I’d like to discuss this with you. I think it is in line with your business.
Email me.
Andy.
…and I think you’ll do it!
I understand the feeling of wanting to pay off all your debts as a matter of real urgency. One of the reasons for me is I wouldn’t want my family to be lumbered with it should anything happen to me. I’d also like to experience the feeling/freedom of knowing I don’t owe ANYBODY any money.
Good luck, m’lady – I’m sure you’ll get there.
take care…
Congrats! I think I actually started reading your site right from about the first month. It’s been fun reading along and following your progress. You’ve sure worked hard and you definitely deserve all the progress you have made so far. I look forward to reading your site for the next year (and more because I’m sure you’ll continue even after you’re debt free)!!!

Hey Amy but dont you have to pay back the economic stimulus package back? Hey if your blog is worth $105,000, why not sell it?
Thank you for all your support everyone.
Bruce,
No you don’t have to pay that back. I don’t think that blog is worth calculator is 100% accurate, plus I don’t know anyone who would want to buy it anyway.
Hi Amy, I loved your blog and your sincerity. First of all, I’d like to order a review on your site, and secondly, I have a cool business proposition for you. Let’s discuss it privately.
Best regards,
Vero
Nice work so far , it is the commitment that will get you there , even though debt is horrible to get into it actually has taught me a ton of things on business and financial management , I have been making a couple hundred extra a week on line to help pay off debt !
Hello Amy,
So happy to know that you have completed one year in your debt free journey.
May you complete it before your targetted date.
The kiddo on your lap has got gorgeous eyes… whats his name?
Also looking forward to the April income post…

Just curious, have you done other things besides your buisness–to become debt free–sell any assets?? Hold yard sales, rent rooms out? What about your husband? I know he has some medical issues, but is he able to help with any of this even on the buisness side. I think gazelle intensity–as Dave Ramsey referrs to it–means thinking outside the box–to become debt free (as you said) like your life depended on it.
You are definatley doing a great job and wish you blessings on your road to freedom
I had a similar, “hey, I never thought of it that way” moment about doing things as if your life depended on them, which I blogged about at:
http://www.the-new-years-resolution.com/2008/05/your-life-depends-upon-it.html
But some of my friends didn’t really understand what I meant. I do think it pays to at least think, what would I do, if my life depended on achieving this goal? which for you, is being debt-free.
You are doing such an awesome job, congrats! You are truly an inspiration!
