Credit Card Niche - Profitable, But At What Price?

I am against credit cards. They have caused a lot of problems for a lot of people. However, someone paid me to write a review about their credit card site.

Let me tell you a bit about credit cards and how they can lead to trouble. First of all, they make it way too easy to buy things we don’t need. That 0% introductory rate may be appealing, but remember that will shortly shoot up to 17% 18% or even as high as 32% or higher interest rate before too long. Oh and if you are ever late on a payment, say bye-bye to your 0% offer.

Now, looking from an internet marketers point of view. I think that this person did a great job on her credit card website. She is using great keywords such as Secured Cards and Best 0% Credit Cards.

The site is visually appealing and she goes further into the credit card niche and narrows it down to being a site geared towards women. Although I congratulate her on choosing an extremely profitable niche and making a great site, I do not support the products sold.

High interest rates usually cause problems. The lower APR you have, the more beneficial the credit card is. Just don’t waste money on interest rates that are too high.

Yes they can get you into trouble.Believe me.Plus when you are late on credit card payments or find yourself unable to pay for them before they send it to a collections agency instead of cancelling your account then and their they let you accrue enough interest and late fees for a good couple of 6 months before they send it to the collections agency. So therefore it is this money that you never even spent that you owe as well. That is what I heard on a informercial on tv about credit cards ,etc. The guy had written a book and said what their secrets are to actually getting extra money off of people and that they prey off of middle class and stuggling people that need credit cards that actually bring them further in debt.So in the end the credit card companies are making the money.which is sad.The guy said alot of imformative things about this and about credit scores and such.it seemed like a good book to buy for 29.95.I am thinking on buying it.The book is called “Debt Cures they do no want you to know about by Kevin Trudeau.I am going to see if I can buy it online.I was featured on a QSN channel shopping network and said it was only available online so I am hoping I can go to that website or buy it online. His book also tells you how to get money to pay off our bills in the form of grants that you never have to pay back and he also tells you how to get your credit score up, etc.I have known people that have just used cards for emergiences and paid it back so they could have good credit but some people have to be careful as it can be tempting to buy stuff because it so easy to charge it on plastic as it is not being paid with money.

    Carrie,

I agree with Amy, save your money. Also, be careful of those infomercials. That guy, Kevin Trudeau, has done ‘a million’ of them. He’s an ‘expert’ on everything. He is quite the salesman. I read somewhere that he has also had legal problems regarding scams, but don’t quote me on that. Do some research. Good luck.

Amy, I think you should return the money you accepted to write that review. The person paid you to review the effectiveness of the site not bash their niche/industry. Now granted it may not have been the wisest decision to ask a person that has trouble with credit card debt to review a website promoting the use of credit cards. But you have a following and a degree of influence among those of us that follow your plight and admire your efforts to overcome it. Even though you eventually commended the site at the end of the ‘review’ the fact that you let us know up front that you only did it for the money was disappointing and obvious. Now, if you explained to the person your feelings before accepting their money and they still insisted you write the review then please forgive my ignorance. If you didn’t explain your disdain for credit card usage before accepting the money and the best you could muster was that ‘review’ then I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the person who paid felt used.

    Stephanie,
The person is actually quite happy with the review. They already knew my stance on credit cards. I believe the review as more for back links than anything else. I cannot promote credit cards as good, but she did a great job on her website.

mostly review sites with paid review sucks .. but yours is distinctively professional. Good work
