Building My Niche Website Part 3
I am getting the wordpress installed and my superadsense theme set up. Now that I have the foundation I am ready to ad in the content and all the extras. You can see my progress here -
Don’t remember how to Install Wordpress Part 1 Part 2 or Change Your Wordpress theme? Click on the links and they will explain how to do it.
Now it is article writing time. If you are using a blog for your niche site I recommend publishing them on your site as you write them. So finish the first article, upload it to your site, then finish the second article and so on.
You want each article to have your keyword in it at least a few times, but don’t go overboard or that is considered keyword spamming. Once for every 100 words is a nice rule of thumb to go by.
Keep checking in on my niche site as I will be adding some extras to it and getting my content on it. This one really means a lot to me.
However, that does not mean that you should only build niche sites on things you love. Sometimes even boring topics can make a profitable website. The ones I really like I just have a bit more enjoyment with.

Progress Overview

Hi Amy, this niche site doesn’t look like your other ones. Why is that?
I have blog niche websites and static websites. I built this one as a blog because it is the easiest and it allows me to make posts on a regular basis, which I plan to do to talk about my son. Imagine editing the page of every static site page to update the menu bar with a new article each time.
Coming along nicely…I look forward to reading your posts. I think I mentioned in another post that my son was diagnosed with mild Aspergers with sensory issues. This topic hits home for me as well.
I use wordpress for all my sites, I just make them into regular websites by only using pages and not posts. This way I don’t have to feel bad if I haven’t added anything for a long time. It took me a while to figure out, and there is a lot of tweaking (especially with the sidebar and adding a few plugins), but I think it’s worth it, and now I have it down to a science. Like you said, it’s so much easier because the template and navigation is always the same, no matter what. Just thought I’d mention it.
Amy,
Do you use wordpress.com or wordpress.org? Which site are these compatible with?
Shelley
Shelley,
I use wordpress.org I get my hosting through Hostgator for $10 a month and can have as many websites and blogs on there as I want.
Amy, nice tutorial on building a niche website. But the problem with making money for a niche website is getting traffic. If you can, I would like you to write a post on gaining traffic to your niche website.
