Review of October
My earnings were not as good as I had hoped for the month. I ended up making only $2,624, which is a bit embarrassing considering I had set a goal for $4,000 and fell way short.
I guess we cannot win all the time right? All I can do is resolve to make November a better month. Work a bit smarter and not waste time with “busy work” that takes up my time, but does not really accomplish anything.
I am going to take some time tomorrow (Nov 1st) to evaluate my game plan and make any adjustments to my daily work schedule.
I love that this is a learning experience. I love that I can learn from my mistakes and make myself better each month. I love the first day of the month because to me, it is like a fresh start.
I resolve to do better in November than I did in October. I am not sure if I should put a number on it because I will admit, I started getting really frustrated with myself around mid-month this month when I was not on track for my $4,000 goal. In fact, I think it hurt my motivation quite a bit.
I guess I am just being a little too hard on myself. I need to really look at the long term income here and stop stressing about the short term. Each day I am growing my business and although it may not bring in immediate income, it will pay me little by little for years to come.
There is no magic wand to riches. Perseverance and learning from your mistakes is key.
I am wishing everyone luck on your goals for November. Stay focused and never give up. ![]()

Progress Overview

You fell short by some 1300 odd bucks. If you want to see a failure, go look at my earnings post.
I’m sorry that you didn’t meet your goal. As you know, I always wish you the best. Perhaps you should set daily goals, just personal notes to yourself to remind you and hopefully keep you on track. Oh, and you should expect another “Link Love” winning post on http://www.poeticmoney.com before too long. (I had hoped to get my site switched to Wordpress by Nov 1, doesn’t look like that’s happening though)
You still had a great month. I would love to get to that point myself. I posted about you and your site on my blog as an inspiration to others. itjustcameout.blogspot.com
Good luck!
Dear Amy,
You did fine, even if you didn’t reach a particular $ goal.
A better performance measure that may keep you motivated is daily or weekly growth percentages/site or area. Maybe focus more on traffic growth and conversion rates rather than set dollar figures. If you grow traffic and improve conversion the money will come exponentially better than ever before.
You’ve branched out a lot since you started in May, and the branches are a lot different than just working on one focused area for a whole month at a time. You have made a lot of progress, and you’re on track for some really serious long-term passive earnings.
Like you posted recently, if someone wasn’t earning enough to replace a day job by the end of 12 months and quit, look how much that person would have lost if they hadn’t continued for another 12 months. You have a different process now, so you need to find a better way of measuring your progress on your processes rather than just dollars per month. It may seem you have taken one step back, but you haven’t and I know you’re on your way to taking big several steps forward over the coming months.
You have a really good process for your online work. Focus on the process and the money will come. Realize that there will be peaks and valleys on your growth curve.
Best of luck. You’re doing a fine job. Don’t let this get you down. Find a better measure of your work, one that truly tells you how your doing in the big picture.

Keep your head up, you did great last month. I’m of the opinion that our goals should always be just out of reach so they continue to challenge us to do better.
Good Luck!
Amy-
Remember that you took Sundays off (for a very good reason) and you didn’t have a WSO. You need time off and time with your family which is a fair trade for $1300 IMHO. So, for taking a day off a week, I think you still did tremendous!
Also, your Cashcrate earnings may not be around forever and you are doing excellent in spreading your earnings all over the board, that way if you lose one source you can still make great money elsewhere. I think it is a positive thing that you still made that much money and your Cashcrate earnings were not as high as they used to be. That means your business is growing!!!!
Hang in there, most of us would kill to have your earnings and you are helping so many people. I don’t see last month as anything but a success!
Thank you so much for your comments. You are all right. I shouldn’t see this as a step back, but maybe a step in a slightly different direction. Instead of short term income I am builidng long term income, which comes in slower, but is there for years.
I think you’re an inspiration and I look forward to modeling your success! Chin up…you’re helping lots of us!
Maybe have an aim to spend less. The tendency to spend grows as the income increases and the business develops and some of the spending isn’t really necessary. Subscriptions, software, hardware, buying articles, outsourcing - it all mounts up. I spent $127 recently on some website building software only to discover something just as good, free, a few days later. Ouch!
Instead of spending more, perhaps try and make more of what you’ve already got. That’s my aim at the moment.
Just remember Amy. You will never reach your goal if you never set your goal.
Don’t lower your goal. Just adjust your game plan. Obviously your $4000 goal is one that will take an extra effort to reach. You deserve a reward if you make it. Pick a prize for yourself, one really worth the extra effort. Maybe a nice 3 day weekend getaway at a nice B&B with the hubby and NO COMPUTERS ALLOWED?
Whatever it is that you choose, bust your butt, achieve your goal, and claim your prize! Maybe you’ll do it in November… maybe it won’t be until January. But whatever you do don’t lower your goal to one that’s within easy reach… it will be a hollow victory.
