My NEW Header Is Up
I just put up my new header. I would love to know all your opinions on it. The woman on the left is meant to represent being under the burden of debt (that is what the ball and chain is) and the woman on the right is debt free and making money online.
So it takes you from being sad and in debt to being happy and debt free. That is the goal of this blog to help both myself and my readers obtain that goal. If you don’t have debt, well then you are ahead of the game.
I did email the designer and asked him to make the ball a bit bitter (the one attached to her foot) and to put the word “Debt” in it because I don’t want anyone confused as to what it is meant to represent.
Oh and I need to give some link love to the designer of my header Sebastian Saldarriaga S. at InfoVictory.com (I got a great deal on his services through a WSO he had. In fact, I got my entire header created for $17!)

What’s there to say other than the header looks great. It really gives you a brand. Hopefully you can get him to work you up a whole media package based on the design. You know business card, letterhead, a couple of banners, etc.

hahaha, I like it. I think it fits the atmosphere/character of the site perfectly. So, I definitely have been working on converting over to wordpress all day and it is getting to me. Now, I know why people suggest taking breaks.

I really like it Amy! I think making the ball bigger with the word “debt” in it is a great idea.
Also, the “M” in “my” “money” and “making” isn’t very clear. The top part of the “m” is kind of flat. I’m sure it’s the font so I’m not sure he can change that too much, but it would be easier to read if the line was a little more pointy so it was obvious that it was a letter “m”. Am I making sense? The only reason I point that out is that I know what your header says, but a new reader may not, and making it easier to read will make sure you grab their attention before they lose it…
Otherwise, I love it!

Wow, Amy, I think you got a really good deal. I looked at the other samples and I liked yours the best by a long shot. Did you give him any guidance on what you wanted?
All of it is great, the two characters, one unhappy the other happy. The way the happy one is all professional with cash around. And the fonts are wonderfully casual and polished both! Again, I looked at the other samples and they are fine, but not nearly as cool as what you got!
Scam Hunter- I specifically asked for two female cartoon like characters. One in debt and the other with a lot of money.
I like the new header. The “ball and chain” is a little off-putting since you are married and have kids - but I get it!
Only problem is - it is a little big - so now your ads start below the fold - which isn’t that good. Considering that you make most of your money away from this blog - its probably not that big of a deal.
Brian, I am not really concerned about the ads on this website. This is more of an online journal for me than anything else. The money makers are my niches.
