How to Set Up a Wordpress Blog Part 2
Now that we have the domain name and the web hosting we are ready to set up a wordpress blog.
Step 1 - Cpanel
Log in to your Cpanel. You would have gotten this in the email you recieved from Hostgator when you signed up. If you cannot find the email you can find your cpanel at yourdomainname.com/cpanel
Step 2 - Click on the Fantastico Button
Click on the fantastico button here-

Step 3 - Choose “Wordpress” from the side menu
Once you get on the next page there will be a side bar menu with several different sub headings. You want to look for the second section down entitled “blogs”. From there you want to click on the button that says Wordpress:

Step 4 - Click on New Installation
Then you will come to a screen that looks like this (I included the instructions right on the picture to make it easier for you.) -

After you are done with that part hit the “Install Wordpress Button”
Step 5 - The Next Screen
The next screen is relatively simple. Just click on “Finish Installation” and you are finished. You can have it email you your log in information on the screen after that.
CONGRATULATIONS! You just installed a wordpress blog with fantastico! The next part in this series will talk about how to upload and change your template.

Progress Overview

Amy, I just joined this brand new social networking site (it is owned by a very nice man who is an NAA client). He is offering a share of his website’s profits to the first 1,000 members who sign up.
It’s a really nice site and all you have to do is sign up as soon as possible to be included
If you or anyone else reading this wants to get in on the action, go to my blog and comment with your email address so I can send you an invite. This site is already getting a lot of buzz so get in while you can!

Hi Amy,
I have been reading your blog for a while now and I wanted to say thank you for this post, I feel so silly. I did not know that in Cpanel, Fantastico had an auto installation. I have been installing Wordpress manually all this time on my sites. Keep up the great job you have been doing!
Thanks Keith
There is a link somewhere, I just haven’t found mine yet lol. So until I get it I’ve gotta go the old fashion way and invite people.

wow, that’s so much easier than manually, which I have been doing. not that manually is very difficult, everything is easier with wordpress.
All-right, I finally got my test site running with wordpress and now to the changing template lesson:)

I would recommend using Bluehost as your hosting. They have a one click install with Fantastico and cPanel.
