Go for a Personal Best

It is important to concentrate on personal goals and not always measure yourself against others. I say this because despite my efforts to work as hard and as quickly as I can to be in the lead for the 6 figures in 6 months challenge that there will always be someone faster.

When I was working on my 10th niche site for the challenge I discovered there were a few other people who had over twenty sites made already! I was blown away. I had been working from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed.

Of course, I cannot devote all my time, I still take care of the kids, get them to school, make meals and keep the house tidy. In this I realized, why am I burning myself out to “Win” the competition?

We all, and I am speaking to myself here, need to just work the best we can in our situation and our abilities and feel good about what we can do. I don’t have to be the best there is, I don’t even have to win the competition if that means taking away from my family or my sanity. ;)

Do what you can each day. There really should be no competition than what you can push yourself to do to meet your OWN goals. Set your own challenge and strive to meet it.

For example, I want to build 20 websites a month. That is really pushing it for me because this month I have only built 14. However, I really want to push myself to do a little bit more each month than I did the month before.

I have been outsourcing quite a bit and that has helped take the bulk of the load off of me. I am really thankful to my writers who put up with me.

So the moral of the story is, just do what you can do and give yourself a pat on the back. You are working hard.

Very true Amy. No matter how good at something somebody is, there’s always somebody better out there in the world. There’s no such thing as “The Best”, there’s just goals that people eventually meet and surpass.

How true. All that matters in the end is if you are happy with your results. BTW, I love your Blog! You are an inspiration, as I find ways to make money on-line!

Amy, thanks for this post. I have been killing myself trying to get my blog and site off of the ground. You are absolutely right. How you feel about what you’ve accomplished is all that matters. Thanks for the advice and for the inspiration.

I have come to this realization myself. We each are different, living in different stages of life, and we have to understand that. We can only do what is best for us and our family. I know my limitations and I know what works best for me. As long as I am moving forward steadily, I will reach my goals and not burn out or go insane in the process. By the way, I’d love to see a niche site or two that you have created this month. I am sure we all would like to see some of your creations. Have a nice night.
