WordPress is great, but I prefer to use it as a central blog with links out to my niche sites. Have a look at this wordpress post as an example of how I connect the niche websites to my blog:

I agree 100% with your new plan Amy. I've been using blogging platforms to develop websites for years. I have always been convinced that they are basically just another CMS option.

What makes a blog a blog? To me it's a web site with regularly updated content arranged in a primarily chronological order. So if you have a blog that ISN'T updated regularly and is organized by pages/categories instead of date what do you have?... why a website of course!

I think you will be very happy with wordpress as a CMS Amy.

That’s what I would use (blogs) to make websites. There really isn’t much of a difference between a blog and a website anyhow. It’s so much easier to get a blog going than setting up a website. I used to own and operate a music streaming website a long time ago which I built from scratch i.e. a blank text box. Using blogger for me is a godsend! lol. Much luck to you on the blog niches

I hardly use anything but WordPress to build my websites any more. It makes it so much easier to update the content. I think you’re going to like it, too! And the good thing about WordPress is that you can work the template so that it doesn’t really look like a blog.
