Why Should You Build a List?

I keep reading online about how important it is to build a list. So I have been looking into building some lists from my niche websites. As you can see I set it up on one of my WhyPark sites to give away a free report when people sign up for my mailing list.

You can see one of my websites here – How to Lose 10 Pounds

I even put in my own affiliate articles with my affiliate links on the first page. I love how much I can customize everything on there and the fact that I can set the sites up so quickly.

I have however, moved three of my sites from WhyPark to my own hosting today. This is because I wanted to make them eBay niche sites and I cannot run my RSS feeds on the WhyPark sites.

So I have been busy today designing and creating three eBay niche sites. I am going to try and create 1-2 new websites a day depending on how much time I can spare.

It takes a bit longer when trying to find affiliate products that give you something you can offer your readers in exchange for joining your mailing list.

You want them on your list so you can remind them after they have left about your affiliate product or to revisit your website. This turns a one time visitor into a repeat visitor.

I use Aweber for my lists. It lets me create follow up messages and broadcasts to your subscribers. I like that one subscription lets me create a different list for each website I own.

Of course I don’t have it set up on all of them yet, but those are my plans.

    Amy,

Have you set up lists for all of your profitable sites?

If they’re profitable, you should be doing it.

    And break the bank!!

    Later!

Admittedly, today is the first time I have set up a list option for any site besides my blog here. I have procrastinated that big time.

I think it is because I don’t know what to offer the lists or what to send them emails about. I need to work on that. :)

    Amy,

Anything that you’re already making money from will have other products that you can offer.

Use whatever it takes to get them on the list: free product, series of tips, series of videos, etc. and be sure to offer them quality info.

Make the info very good and then hit them with offers every 3-4 emails, that way you’re just selling to them all of the time.

If you do implement this, I hope that you share your experiences with it.

    Amy,

Also, don’t forget to add some $7 offers in there that will pay you directly to your PP account!

I almost forgot to add that.

    Sheesh, I must be tired…

Just wanted to drop you a note you a note to say that your website is a true inspiration. After much reading and planning, I’ve decided to track my own financial goal: to save $15,000 in a year. May not seem like much compared to your goal of paying off a $72,000 debt, but I still feel it’s a great step for me. So anyway, great website. I look forward to future posts.

That is fantastic! I am sure you will meet your savings goal. :)

    Hi Amy,
I just keep coming back for more, you’re doing great! Question: I see that WhyPark has their own templates but how much does WhyPark let you redesign your individual sites to your own taste? Also, no RSS feeds?
    Thanks,
    Robert Tutsky

I have been able to change my templates drastically actually. They let you edit the css style and the html template any way you want.

If you were able to convert your rss feed to html you can add it by creating a custom html page.

    Amy,
I was wondering how to go about adding ebay rss feeds. I am a little stumped there.

    Kelly.
