Taking Sundays Off
I used to not think much about working on Sundays. It was just another day to get work done and get ahead on my to-do list. Well, I had a change of heart this week and promised myself and God that I would not work on the Sabbath.
So starting with tomorrow I will not be doing any work or business on Sundays. I will be spending that time studying my scriptures, going to church and enjoying quality time with my family.
So if you contact me tomorrow, I am not ignoring you. I will answer you on Monday. I know in doing this, I will be able to get more work done in 6 days than I was previously doing in 7.

Progress Overview

m glad to hear you are taking a day off to rest!
Amy,
I pray that you’re more blessed for doing so!

Good for you Amy!
I do not have a set day, but I always spend at least one or two days a week with my family w/out working!
You deserve it Amy. I don’t think anyone should have to work on Sundays. My hubby and I usually have lazy Sundays were we just lay around the house. It’s a great way to feel refreshed on Monday.
The Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday.
Oh boy, Anonymous, do you really need to start that debate?
Some people are really hung up on stuff like that.
Anyway, good for you Amy. I’m glad you’re taking a day to rest.
Go for it, Amy. It is so easy to say, “Oh, I’ll just work a couple of hours” and then end up at the computer all day. I’ve been working on Sundays too, for the same reason you give here. I think taking Sundays off totally is an excellent idea. I’m going to do my best to give this a try, too.
from one anon post to another:
the Sabbath to Christians is Sunday.
the Sabbath in Judaism is from sundown on Friday until Saturday night.
