This is a good idea for a September focus. Mine is to go through the process outlined in the Thirty Day Challenge and choose at least ten niches to work on so I can test and create my own products. Also, I am working on an ebook project.

It's fun coming up with business models. I jotted your idea down in case I felt like doing it or something like it in the future.

Richard,

These are my own thoughts, not scientifically proven. I have seen many websites 1+ year old high in google searches, but when it comes to blogs, they are dated. Someone visits and if they see your last post was from 2006 they may not respond as well.

Plus, I almost never see old blogs in the search engines. Blogs get indexed in the search engines easier than a website, but do not have the permanence of a website.

However, these are my opinions and observations. :)

Hi Amy,

First of congratulations on your goal achievement of last month.

One question about something that you mentioned in one of the reactions above

"... I make too many websites to go back and update them on a regular basis. That is why I choose websites over blogs ..."

It is the last part of the sentence, you prefer a website over a blog. What do you mean here (as a blog is a website)? Why do you prefer a site over a blog?

Richard

I have a daily to do list, but I don't always get through it every day. I have to do a lot of things holding a baby and it makes me pretty slow at getting things done. :)

Hmmm, not sure what using RSS feeds within the websites means exactly but I am definitely going to look into it as it sounds like a good plan.

Congrats.

I make too many websites to go back and update them on a regular basis. That is why I choose websites over blogs. I also use RSS feeds within the websites to keep fresh content automatically coming in on auto-pilot. :)

Hi Amy -

I have enjoyed reading your blog and today have re-started from the beginning reading every post. I have a question about todays post. When you create a website like this do you plan to go back and add more pages or more articles to keep it fresh and in the minds of people? Also, doesn't google and other search engines like sites that get updated and such. How will you handle that with all the other niche sites and things you have going on? I am very impressed with what you have done.
