Finished My New eBay Niche Site

Finished the website I have been working on for the past three days. It is an eBay niche site that I hope to make some niche eBay affiliate commissions from. My plan for tomorrow is to work on articles to help drive traffic.

I completed 14 webpages to finish the site today so I felt quite accomplished by the time I was done.

I am going to be doing this all month - creating eBay affiliate websites and using articles to bring in traffic. I plan to try a different business method next month and see what I like best.

I feel that it is always important to experiment a bit here and there and learn something new. I don’t want all of my income streams to be in eBay affiliate websites or adsense content websites or any one source.

Just like you wouldn’t put all your money into one stock if you were investing in the stock market. It really is important to diversify. This is something I am working on doing now.

I figured it would be good for me to go with a business model theme for each month, that way I can really focus and dive in to whatever I am doing.

In May I really focused on ‘Get Paid To’ programs and building up that income stream. It worked out perfectly because that has given me an income to depend on while I build up other streams.

I also have a few websites that I made that are mainly for adsense and some clickbank products. I only have a couple of those because I don’t want to be dependent on adsense.
( I have heard some horror stories of people having 300+ adsense websites to get their account banned for little reasons.) These are mainly what I worked on and created in June.

In July I was doing a lot more Amazon associate things, but their 24 hour cookie and really low affiliate commissions are somewhat disheartening.

Of course this month I had my WSO, but that is not a constant stream. However it has given me a boost in being able to pay down a bit of debt and have a bit of funds to help grow my online business.

I am also concentrating on the eBay affiliate sites this month as well. I learned how to be really creative with them from Earn1kADay. In fact, all of the business models except the ‘Get Paid To’ has come from things I have learned in this membership club.

I have a few other tricks up my sleeve I am learning there as well. ;) One of them I am going to concentrate on for September.

Any particular reason you are building the ebay based sites?

I thought there aff program was pretty tough to earn much on due to super-saturation.

Granted- you should be able to pull some decent content from ebay to fuel the Adsense fire.

    GREAT blog BTW. Truly inspirational!

There are still plenty of ways to make some good money with ebay sites. :) However, next month I will be trying a new business model. I like to switch things up.

    Clare,
I just typed “3 column blogger template” into google and found the code on a website. I don’t actually remember what one it was.

Amy - I appluade you on your efforts to reduce your debt and to share your adventures with everyone. I can see your drive and am convinced that you will succeed.

I would like to warn you on your new business model every month desires. The reason I caution you is that there is so much to learn and do online that by changing your focus each month you will never become an expert in any one thing - and being an expert is where the big money comes in.

I know you have a concern with putting all your eggs in one basket but look at any profession - it is the person who specialized that is at the top. A good example is Michael Jordan - he excelled at basketball. When he reached the top he retirred and tried baseball - but never made it to the pro level because he had spent his life learning and practicing basketball. Basketball was his expertise - not golf or baseball. He is good at all three sports but he is Great at Basketball and that is where he made all his money.

Please consider picking one area and becoming the expert at it. To help you with your websites I suggest you watch this free video from a SEO expert to see what kind of success you can have with your websites - if you master and become an SEO expert.

here is the free video (don’t worry they are not selling anything on the video it is purley educational) http://www.area51-marketing.com

I wish you all the best

Chris, You are absolutely right. I don’t plan to change business methods every month for the long term. Mainly just for the next 3-4 months so I can learn more than one skill. This is my first year doing internet marketing and I want to understand my options. This is about exploration for me. I will find what suits me best and will then study to become a pro at it. ;)

Amy, can you please give some tips on domain registration and hosting? I love the idea of having a ton of websites for affiliate marketing, but the cost of registering and hosting a bunch seems prohibitive.

    Thanks,

    Matt
