Must Read CashCrate Insider Information

I was just in a meeting with the owners of CashCrate and was able to get quite a bit of very important information from them about the changes going on in the Get Paid To industry and CashCrate as a whole.

Some of the things that I learned today are completely different than what I previously thought and what has been standard practice about getting offers to approve so read on…

Apparently the past couple of months haven’t been so good for get paid to sites. There is a lot of fraud going on from people completing offers and surveys with false information. This is causing the advertisers to be more careful and much more picky about the offers that they approve.

Private Phone, 2prong and other Disposable Emails

They have now started to reject offers from people who are using privatephone, 2prong and other disposable email addresses. This was a shock to me because I had been using 2prong myself. I wont be doing that anymore.

The Old Gmail Dot Trick

Also, they have been getting upset about people putting dots in their email addresses, you know, the old gmail dot trick. When the advertisers see dots in email addresses the assume it is a fake email address and may reject the offer.

Never fear, according to CashCrate Joe & Carter there should be no problem getting the offers to clear by simply using one email address for everything on the site. I now have one email address that I use specifically for my cashcrate offers and I don’t worry about changing it up anymore.

It is fine to use a 2nd email address as long as it is an address you will check occasionally. Cashcrate doesn’t want you to use an email address that you will never ever check.

Don’t do the same offer on more than one site

If you complete an offer on one site then go and complete it again on another site it really upsets the advertisers and most likely reject both completions. So keep a notebook or something to keep track of what offers you have completed if you use more than one site to do offers on. Advertisers do not want the same info from the same person twice.

When it comes to offers such as “Party with a star” in which there are multiple offers but for different celebrities, you can do all of them. That is because they are each different offers for different sweepstakes. Just don’t do the same celebrity offer twice once it has cleared.

These are all reasons why the approval rates have dropped for a lot of people. Advertisers don’t like fake emails, phone numbers and addresses. Make sure to use real information.

Gift Cards and Prepaid Cards

Advertisers are making it a practice to reject offers done with gift cards. They used to accept gift cards, but there has been a lot of people buying gift cards and completing some trial offers for more than the limit on the card. So due to this type of fraud they do not like gift cards to be used.

Now, if you want to get a prepaid visa card or something that allows you to add money to it. That may be allowed as long as it has enough money on it to cover the expenses for any trial offers you want to sign up for.

Some Good News About CashCrate

According to CashCrate Joe & Carter, the worst of what we have been experiencing with fraud in the industry is now behind us and we can expect more approvals in the future.

Over the next few months a lot of the smaller Get Paid To sites that have not taken the proper precautions against fraud will be forced to shut down. At that time, many of the really good advertisers will start returning to the strong get paid to sites with better offers.

Exclusive Surveys

CashCrate is also now in the works with some surveys companies to bring even more actual real surveys to the site. Not those advertiser surveys, but real surveys.

These surveys will also only be available to cashcrate members so this is a nice incentive to stick with them.

Clearing Cookies

I asked CashCrate if it is really important to clear you cookies between each offer. They said that it only helps if you are doing offers from the same company. So if you are doing different offers from different companies you wont need to clear the cookies between them. I wanted to stress that each offer can only be done one time.

Summary

The main point is that you need to use real legitimate information when filling out the surveys and offers so we can get rid of the fraud problems the advertisers are facing.

Some of the things I discovered about CashCrate and how to get offers approved blew my mind. I think it is very important for everyone who is involved with Cashcrate to read this.

Great posting especially about the changes!

Wow, thanks Amy. I’ll quit using 2prong. That may be why I’m having so much trouble getting offers to complete. I’ve been using 2prong since mid-June, and that’s when my completion rate dropped of dramatically. I have some yahoo and gmail addresses I can use instead that do get checked weekly.

Hey Amy, thanks sooo much for the info, but I personally have a bone to pick with them not allowing private phone–I mean we get messages from the companies. It is not like a “fake” phone. I was getting frustrated with people calling me all hours of the day even when I always say the best time to call is in the afternoon. Plus they would even call my home on Sundays–I found this offensive–I will definately make a complaint about this.

The problem with private phone is most of the time the number of the area code doesn’t go with your address and that makes the advertisers suspicious.

  5. Donna on July 15th, 2007

I still plan to try and use it then, because the number I got from private phone is still the same area code. Also I recorded my message among my normal household chaos!! It completely sounds legit–and really it is legit! I still get the messages. On another note I find your blog very insprational—I too just had my fouth child–he was born May 1st–congrats on yours!

Thanks for this excellent article! So you now use your home phone for the surveys?

    Amy,
I am curious how you came about this information. Did they just call you or send you an e-mail? Thank you for the insight.

  8. Amy Bass on July 15th, 2007

I was asked to be a part of the meeting along with 5 other cashcrate members and the owners of cashcrate.

Thanks for the information. Have you quit using 2prong on Fairy Tale Treasures as well? If so, how do you do the submit email offers? I found you through Dave’s forum and am glad I did. You are an inspiration to all of us!

  10. Amy Bass on July 17th, 2007

I have not done any offers on FTT since posting this. Since Fairy Tale Treasures asks specifically for different emails for the email address submits I am not sure what to do. I would ask the admin there what they want done.

    Great post Amy

This will certainly help the newbies (including me) to improve their earnings with cashcrate. So far I haven’t actually used the dot trick in email accounts. Guess I won’t have to now that you’ve told us :).

    Amy,

Before I start handing out my phone number to everyone and their brothers. Do you get a lot of solicitors calling you because of filling out these surveys?

I hate to start doing this and then find I’m bugged to death with offers over the phone.

    Thanks,

    Ted

The ones that always call are the request work from home offers and the insurance quotes. Do you have caller id?

  14. Donna on August 7th, 2007

Hey Amy, just wanted to let you know I posted a spreadsheet on my blog–stretchadime.blogspot that totally helps with keeping track of offers a person completes with various gpts. I really feel this will help to keep a person from “accidently” filling out an offer more than once–when you join a lot of gpt’s it gets difficult to keep track!

Clearing cookies and giving your offers a little time is all it takes along with truthful information. May I suggest using AbsoluteShield Track Eraser for clearing cookies and many other temp. files on your computer. Alongisde with RoboForm (www.roboform.com) to help you fill out information boxes alot quicker. I’ve also found some things require a confirmation through e-mail though never stated on CC or the offer’s site. So checking that e-mail and answering some of those pays off sometimes. Keep it up, I hope you can get where your needing to be. I’ve been in a little hassle myself and have used some of the online programs to help out and with youe dedication I think your going to come out on top with some to spare.

Many thanks for the update Amy and your generous offer of allowing us to post this update, with credit of course..Wishing you continued success and as always,

    All the best,
    Doc

Thank you for sharing that info with us. That explains why so many of my offers did not clear! It would be interesting to find out how much applies to other GPT programs. Thank you also for allowing others to post your article. I have placed it on my blog…with proper credit of course =)
