June 2007 Progress and Earnings

I am now on month two of my personal race to debt freedom. I did fairly well last month, earning $1,823.14 online. That is equal to an full time outside job of $10.52 an hour. Not bad.

I will get paid the majority of that money during June, so I will be able to apply quite a bit towards my debt.

    About getting a “Real Job.”
Who decides what job is real and what is “fake”? If it brings in an income it is a job.
I am a stay at home mother and 35 weeks pregnant with baby # 4.

How would me going out and getting a job somewhere outside the home justify such a larger salary increase to pay for child care and keep me ahead?

My husband is getting out of the military and applying for VA disability, that takes a while to get though.

Once that starts coming in we will be in better shape to be able to pay off our debt more quickly.

For me, the savings in child care and transportation make working at home a much better option.

Declare bankruptcy. Your situation is hopeless.

  10. Anonymous on June 5th, 2007

    Amy,
Just wondering. How many hours a day are putting in? Is this something you are doing part time or are devoting most of your time to working your online business? For those of us that would want something part time……..we would like to know your hours in comparision to your income.

  11. Amy Bass on June 5th, 2007

I work part time on each program. I may wake up and spend a bit of time on CashCrate, then do a few free offers on Fairy Tale Treasures.

Then I try and write at least one article so I can bring in some income from writing.

I also work quite a bit on my blogs and studying new techniques such as article marketing (which you can read about here on my blog.)

  12. Anonymous on June 5th, 2007

    Amy,

Thanks for the response. I have one specific question regarding CashCrate…..How many hours a day do you personally spend working on it? I know you might not be able to give exact number but a rough guess would help.

  13. Amy Bass on June 5th, 2007

I would estimate 2 hours per day.

  14. Katherine Huether on June 5th, 2007

You are doing really well with cash crate! I tried, but it didn’t work out. Not because the opportunities weren’t there, but I think it is a personality thing. I think it is important to find methods that work for you and stick to them. You’ve done such a good job with that. :) Keep it up!

  15. Mom of 3 on June 6th, 2007

Great job! I love to see your numbers climb every day. I’m sure you do too :)

I have a question, do you know how many hours a day you spend working on this? I’ve started something similiar, but want to budget my time. So I’m trying to do it at night or during naptime.

  16. Amy Bass on June 6th, 2007

I try to work on each program every day. So adding up the GPT stuff, the articles and my blog it is pretty much a full time job. =)

  17. Mom of 3 on June 6th, 2007

    Thanks!

  18. Anonymous on June 6th, 2007

Just curious….Have you received any donations? I think that is very smart but just wonder if anyone has helped you out.

  19. Amy Bass on June 6th, 2007

I have actually received $2 in donations since I have started this blog. =)
I don’t require anyone to donate, I only put it up there because I had a few people ask me to.

  20. Anonymous on June 6th, 2007

    Amy,
You’re an absolute inspiration to many of us that are getting gazelle intense! I admire you’re determination. I have no doubt that you will meet or exceed your goal!

  21. Posh Mama on June 7th, 2007

I just stumbled across your blog, I have been searching for info online about making extra money from home. We have 2 kids and our third due in August. My hubby is in the Navy, so he is unable to make overtime or anything like that. So I have the same goal, pay off our debt quicker with what I can make online. I am going to join cashcrate under you, if you have any tips or advice, please share!!!

  22. Stephanie on June 7th, 2007

Amy, on your blog you have “links” to the side that take us to other pages that you have created like reading about CashCrate or your financial goals. How did you add those links and pages in the page editor? I have searched all over google to do something similar and cannot figure it out. Can you give me “Blogging for Dummies” version? What’s the trick?

(I hope I explained that well because it’s hard to do via writing–which may be why I’m not getting the right answer I’m looking for from Google e-blogger for my blog) Thanks!

  23. Amy Bass on June 7th, 2007

Posh Mama- Everything I know about CashCrate is on my CashCrate review. =)

Stephanie- You just need to go to page elements and add a list. Then you make a list of the pages you want. Hope that helps.

  24. Stephanie on June 7th, 2007

Ok…I feel like a complete idiot here. When I click your link, I am taken to another one of YOUR PAGES where I get to read more about you and what you are doing. It’s a page that looks just like your blog, but it’s linked to your “homepage.” How are you doing that? Did this make more sense? If not, I’ll find another way to explain myself better!!! Thanks for your patience! Now maybe you can see why I’m not finding the answers I need!

  25. Amy Bass on June 7th, 2007

Email me and I can explain it better. Vegangoddess22@gmail.com

  26. Karen is Thrifty on June 10th, 2007

Just ignore the comment about the “real job”. As if being a mom and wife aren’t “real jobs”. Besides, if you did get a job outside the home, the daycare alone would cost you a fortune!!!! That’s why I am only teaching part-time at a preschool right now. If I went back to full-time teaching, I’d spend 1/2 my salary on childcare which is ridiculous!

Thanks for visiting Thrifty Mommy. I’m glad you’re on the road to having financial peace.

  27. TheWritersManifesto on June 11th, 2007

    Hi Amy,

I found your blog the other day and you inspired me to add my own earnings report.
I have dedicated the intro to you and why I did this. You are welcome to check it out. The link in my sig will send you there.
Keep up the great work, you are a real inspiration.
    Monika ;-)

  28. Mom of 3 on June 11th, 2007

    Amy,
How do you make this post stay on the front page all the time? I have blogspot too and am trying to figure that out.
    Thanks!

  29. Amy Bass on June 11th, 2007

To make this post stay on the front I just edit the post and go to post options then change the date and time to be the most recent post. =)

  30. Mom of 3 on June 11th, 2007

duh! Thanks so much! I looked all over blogspot and couldn’t figure it out.

  31. Anonymous on June 12th, 2007

What is the numbers breakdown after paying SS taxes, income taxes on the money you made last month? What is the hourly rate?

  32. Amy Bass on June 12th, 2007

I just did a gross hourly rate. The same sort of rate you would get paid working for an employer. They don’t hire you on a “after tax” rate. It goes by gross.

  33. Jack Bravo on June 12th, 2007

    Hey Amy,
Has your husband tried Keppra? It’s a fairly new drug, it’s the safest, and works the best for epilepsy (along with depakote).

  34. Amy Bass on June 12th, 2007

Yep he has been on both. The keppra gave him kidney stones so they had to take him off that, but he is still on the depakote.

  35. Travis Roberts on June 12th, 2007

You are rocking the extra income! Way to go!

  36. Stacy H. on June 13th, 2007

    Amy,
First, I really love your responsible approach to debt, and I am wanting to learn a few things from you.
I am a SAHM of 5 wonderful kids, and want to be home with them to nurture and care for them the way a mother should. My husband works full time in Insurance, but we need supplemental income.
Could you send me a typical schedule of what you do in a typical day? I see you do a lot of things on the internet, and I would like to know how you manage your time.
Also, Has ALL these places actually paid you, or is some of the payments still pending?

    CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW BABY!!!!

    Thanks
    ~Stacy~

  37. Katie's mom on June 13th, 2007

Thanks for the comment on my blog Amy! I love your blog, I read it several times a week. Thanks for the tips and hints and learning that you share with us.

  38. Amy Bass on June 13th, 2007

Stacy- this is the reason why I started to keep a daily diary of the things I am doing each day to build my online income. Hopefully you will get some use out of it.

Katie’s mom- You are very welcome. =)

  39. Anonymous on June 13th, 2007

I notice there is no rent or utilities or car insurance in your monthly budget. I assume you live in base housing? What about when your husband leaves the military? Have you been saving $$ to use to live on when you have to start paying for housing?

  40. Anonymous on June 13th, 2007

So you are not paying taxes on the earnings?

  41. Amy Bass on June 13th, 2007

I already have my car insurance paid for through December. I am also planning ahead for taxes. I already have the living situation figured out too. Thanks. =)

  42. razz on June 14th, 2007

Oh I wanted to ask you, How do you get your own domain with the blogger setup? I would love to get my own domain going instead of using blogspot. I would appreciate your help, thanks:)

  43. Amy Bass on June 14th, 2007

It’s simple. I just got my domain name from 1and1 for really cheap and then went to my blogger account and clicked on customize, then settings, then publishing and you have the option to use your own domain. It will then explain how to get it all set up that way. =)

  44. Kelly Fleming on June 14th, 2007

Congrats on the Baby! I wish I can work! At least I get about 10 minutes online each day right now. GL if that little one comes now, take it easy!

  45. Christy on June 17th, 2007

    Hi Amy,

I feel for you as I am a mom of four too and a full time blogger. I haven’t read through your entire blog yet, I’ve read that you haven’t yet been accepted at PayPerPost. Here are some more paid review places for bloggers, you may have heard of all of them but just in case:

    Blogvertise
    Blogitive
    PayU2Blog
    Smorty
    Bloggerwave
    Review Me
    Loudlaunch
    Blogging Ads
    Sponsored Reviews

Also Bidvertise is an alternative to google adsense and their minimum payout is $10.00 instead of a hundred.

I absolutely love your blog and your great attitude, I’m adding your link to my Christy’s Coffee Break blog.

    Take care and good luck!

  46. Dani on June 19th, 2007

I wanted you to know that I am enjoying your blog. Your down-to-earth, realistic explanations of the different programs you are working is refreshing. You are letting people know that they have to spend a lot of time clicking away to make decent money on these things. BTW, I’ve signed up for CashCrate through your banner, and I’ll continue to keep up with your blog.

  47. kywrite on June 20th, 2007

Have you looked at doing affiliate sales yet? The easiest program to get into is Amazon’s, and you seem to have enough traffic here that you could make a little more money that way.

(I’m Jamie1516 at AC, btw, so you can find me there.)

  48. Amy Bass on June 20th, 2007

I am an amazon affiliate and use them on my niche website and plan to use them quite a bit more. =)

  49. Anonymous on June 20th, 2007

Hi amy we are soo sorry to hear about your husband but remember things happen for a reason. I will keep an eye out on your blog… God will take care of you.

Sounds like you have a great plan and goal in place! :)

    Congratulations boy or girl?!

According to the ultrasounds it is a boy. ;)

I was psyched to get on there too!
