Dave Ramsey – The Total Money Makeover Review
I came across Dave Ramsey’s book The Total Money Makeover and was floored.
It was as if a huge light bulb had turned on in my head and I finally “got it”. This was the answer I had been searching for all these years.
I thought I was smart with my money. Thought that going into debt for a vehicle and putting things on credit card was normal as long as you could make the payments.
Turns out, I was normal. However, just because it’s normal, doesn’t mean it is smart.
After reading his book I started listening to his radio program every day to keep me motivated and as he puts it, I had “gazelle” intensity.
The Total Money Makeover changed my whole outlook on material possessions and debt. I drew my line in the sand, no more consumer debt for me ever again. Everything I buy from now on will be bought with cold hard cash.
Dave Ramsey lays out a very detailed yet simple plan to achieving financial freedom and wealth. This plan is presented as 7 baby steps that should be concentrated on one at a time.
My husband and I have been so impressed with this book that we tell everyone we know about it. We have even started giving the book away as presents to relatives.
I would definitely consider The Total Money Makeover to be a financial classic. Anyone who has any debt should definitely pick up a copy.
Maybe even get it at the library, so you wont have to go into further debt by buying your own.
Also, look in your area to see if any Financial Peace University classes are being offered. I know that they are offered through a lot of church and military programs.
Having a financial plan has given me so much freedom. It feels good knowing that my money serves a valuable purpose to get me ahead in life instead of just going to waste.
I am striving to stay true to Dave Ramsey’s saying: “Debt is Normal, Be Weird.”
