How to Make the Most of Articles

There are a few avenues you can go through to make a decent level of income from writing articles.

A great way to add a bit of lasting residual income when writing articles is to submit it to Associated Content as non-exclusive so you have the right to publish it anywhere else you choose.

You can then put the article on your personal blog as more content. This benefits your blog because you have more for your readers to view and you can make money from advertisements such as google adsense.

You can also post your articles to other sites that also pay for articles or page views.

One such site is called Helium. You get paid over time with residual income from clicks on your articles. They don’t pay up front like Associated Content does, that is why I recommend you use both.

I am going to start posting my articles on there as well to hopefully increase my monthly income, even if it is only by several dollars a month.

    Amy,

I was just wondering if you have noticed if Associated Content pays less for articles submitted as non exclusive? I was worried about that . . .

Associated Content will pay slightly less, I would say about $1 less for a non-exclusive article. I have been putting all mine in as non-exclusive lately.

I do this because if I am able to keep rights to my work I can make money off the same article from multiple sources. =)

I’ve been submitting article to Helium, mainly because they post them immediately and it’s easy to see other article with the same sort of content. I think I’m doing pretty good - ranking in the top 5 for a few - but what I cannot for the life of me figure out is when they decide to pay you for your article. I know you get more for your ranking but when do they start paying for articles? Thanks!!!

helium does not pay up front. You earn pennies per article per day for page views and such. When your account reaches $25 you can cashout. :)
